Post subject: Change Default App
Archived from groups: comp>sys>mac>system (more info?)

I have a slew of old Wordperfect files on an OSX machine with Word, and
Word is the default app, and it can't really open WP files. It'll mess
them up, but it won't open them.

I tried to change the default app from Word to Wordperfect. No go. I can
reset Net apps but can't find a way to change a word processor. I even
deleted Word, reset the "Always Open With", then reinstalled Word. Word
took over again. Is there a pref I can dump that'll give me control?

Many thanks.
